Hotel Glenwood Springs is located in West Glenwood and is in a perfect location to get out and enjoy some of the sights and experiences in the Roaring Fork Valley. Whether you are walking, biking or driving, there is fun things to do within very close proximity to the hotel.

Two Rivers Park is located just across the street and a short way down a walking path. This park is a great place to walk your dog, stretch your legs or just enjoy some wonderful scenery. The park is located at the confluence of the Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers and is the largest developed park in Glenwood Springs. It is the home of a small skate park, playground, a lighted field and plenty of seating and shelter throughout. During the summer months Two Rivers Park is home to a variety of concerts at the large outdoor amphitheater.

On the other side of the Two Rivers Park is a walking or biking path that parallels the Roaring Fork River. This 38 mile long path can take you all the way to Aspen if you have the time and the energy. Just remember that it is uphill all the way. This path is one of the more popular ones in Glenwood Springs and it is pet friendly, just remember to clean up after your furry friend and watch out for the bikers and joggers.

Right next door to Hotel Glenwood Springs is the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The Adventure Park is one of the most popular attractions in Glenwood Springs. The orange gondola cars can be seen from most locations in Glenwood Springs traveling up the mountain to the attractions on the top. In the summer season the Adventure Park features the Cliffhanger Roller Coaster which is the highest elevation roller coaster in the U.S. There is also the Giant Canyon Swing which is not for the faint of heart. This swing propels you out over the edge of the 1,300 foot mountain and then back again, and again, and again. There are interesting guided walking cave tours and several other fun and exciting features and attractions making the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park a favorite for all ages. And they literally are right next door to the hotel.

If you are into unique shopping, just 3 blocks from Hotel Glenwood Springs is a cute, unique shop called Sioux Villa Curio. Their motto is “The “Wall Drug” of the Rockies – anything and everything and a bunch of things you never knew existed.” If you have inkling to buy something unusual and unique that will remind you of your time in Glenwood Springs, you have to visit this uncommon store. Couldn’t you use a new pair of blue beaded moccasins?

A birder is defined as “a person who identifies and studies birds in their natural habitats” and there is plenty of natural habitat in the neighborhood. With the Colorado River practically in our back yard it is a perfect place to see ducks, bald eagles, cranes and other water fowl. At Two Rivers Park you might have the distinct privilege of spotting a Red Naped Sapsucker, a Black-Headed Grosbeak, an American Robin or you might get a glimpse of the shy and evasive Empidonax Flycatcher. Just bring your binoculars and a good pair of walking shoes. If you have never birded, well isn’t it time to start?
